The following main changes were included in the 12 March system update.
Member Professional Interests
The dropdown question ‘How did you find out about current awareness?’ is no longer a required field when you are creating professional interests for a member. Teams who want to track this information can still use the field.

Evidence search - staff requests
Searches where the requester is a member of LKS staff (either the librarian carrying out the search, or a different member of staff) were previously hidden from advanced search and site search results. This has now been fixed.
Evidence search - multiple result links
In a previous update we tidied up duplicate/unwanted links imported via RIS records so that only one URL was displayed. This had the unintended effect of hiding multiple links that the searcher had deliberately added when creating or editing an individual search result.
This has now been fixed so that your own manually added links will all be shown in the final report.
Note: The change will affect previously completed searches, including the search report if re-downloaded. Searches completed before 11 March 2026 will display multiple URLS (if present in the data) in both RIS and individual results. Searches completed after 11 March 2026 will show only the first URL in RIS records, but all URLS if manually added.
Resources
A new optional Library Site(s) field has been added to the Physical Media type resource form. This means that when adding a book or other physical item as a local resource, you can specify which library it is available from.

Category quick links
Further fixes have been applied to the category quick links. You can now separate multiple categories with a comma to refine the display. For example, to view results with the categories Stroke AND Community Clinics, construct the following link in the address bar:
www.knowledgeshare.nhs.uk/stroke,community_clinics
Compare with
www.knowledgeshare.nhs.uk/stroke,ambulances
If the category already includes a comma (for example Smoking, Tobacco and Vaping) you can now correctly view resources with this category by replacing the comma and space with a single underscore: https://www.knowledgeshare.nhs.uk/smoking_tobacco_and_vaping
Site search/Advanced search – Skills sessions
We have fixed a bug with searching for skills sessions and choosing ‘Sort by date’ when viewing the results. The results will now correctly display in order of the date of the session (rather than when the session was created).
Statistical reports
Your quarterly and yearly current awareness reports will now include separate columns for Evidence Updates and Journal Alerts received by each member in that time period. Previously the ‘Total number of notifications received’ column showed a combined total of evidence update emails and journal alert (TOC) emails.
